The module will help you assess your ability to provide medical nutrition therapy, identify specific nutrition diagnosis(es), and provide evidenced-based nutrition knowledge to clients involved in, or seeking involvement in exercise and various sports activities.
The self-assessment will also evaluate aspects of critical thinking and problem-solving to address nutrition related problems, and collaboration with the health care and sports professionals in providing effective quality nutrition care and desired outcomes.
Whether you work in the area of sports dietetics full-time or provide consultation on a part-time basis, this module will be helpful in assessing your knowledge and ability to manage clients in this growing industry.
A unique feature of the Assess and Learn series is that the modules are designed to not only assess your knowledge in a specific area of nutrition, such as sports dietetics, but also to assess your ability to provide medical nutrition therapy to clients using the American Dietetic Association's Nutrition Care Process.

Course Description:
These online courses are valuable professional development activities for practitioners interested in the renal or pediatric areas of practice or as a study resource for practitioners who would like to take the Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric or Renal Nutrition Examination. The simulations have been developed and reviewed by committees of content experts who are practitioners in pediatric and renal dietetics. Committee members are chosen to represent various work settings, and they include members from diverse demographics.
Please note: The content of the online versions of the self-assessment simulations is the same as the printed version that was published in 1997. While some of the content/references may be dated, the problems are still useful to become familiar with the patient management problem format of the examination, the information gathering and decision making sections and scoring rationales. The current reference list, content outline, and problem types are available on CDR's website. It should be noted that the simulation problems are educational in nature and are not necessarily designed to predict your performance on the actual examination.
